Zinc chloride is a compound of chlorine and zinc, with the chemical formula ZnCl2. It is a colourless or white solid, extremely water-soluble and hygroscopic, and even deliquescent, and should be stored in a dry place in a sealed container, avoiding contact with water vapour in the air. All data are from standard condition (25 °C, 100 kPa) unless otherwise stated. Zinc chloride has a wide range of applications in textile processing, welding and chemical synthesis.
